Baytown is growing and the time is now to invest in our community’s future. After 10 public workshops, the Citizens Bond Advisory Council unanimously recommended 15 priority projects totaling $151.3 million. These projects address critical needs in thoroughfares, neighborhood streets, sidewalks, traffic, drainage, public safety, parks, and educational facilities — ensuring Baytown remains a safe, connected, and vibrant place to live.

No - that’s not the goal.

The ballot language is required by state law to say “tax increase,” but Baytown leaders have structured the bond so the tax rate is expected to stay the same.

In April 2025, the Baytown City Council appointed the Citizens Bond Advisory Committee to evaluate community needs and potential bond projects. Over the course of 10 workshops, the Council narrowed 28 proposed projects down to 15, totaling $151.3 million, and unanimously recommended calling the election so residents could decide whether to fund them.

The Citizens Bond Advisory Council reviewed community needs in detail, prioritized based on safety, mobility, and long-term benefit, and held public workshops to gather feedback. Their work resulted in a carefully considered bond package addressing the city’s most pressing infrastructure, drainage, public safety, and park needs.

Six propositions will appear on the ballot:

• Proposition A – Thoroughfares: $69.9 million

• Proposition B – Neighborhood Streets, Sidewalks & Traffic: $30.5 million

• Proposition C – Drainage: $14.0 million

• Proposition D – Fire Station No. 4: $4.3 million

• Proposition E – Baytown Wetlands Education Facility & Arboretum Gardens: $13.0 million

• Proposition F – Parks: $19.8 million
